The rooms are nice and clean and you will feel like your home. The breakfast is also included and good. Only 3 things about this hotel were nerve wracking :
1) the internet speed which was extremly slow
2) location was far away from hbf
3) you'll hear almost every sound in the hallway anyway
It is a pretty good budget option, although the name of the hotel is very misleading: it is of course not in the castle, but next to it, in a dorm-like building.
I appreciated a complimentary bottle of water, kettle and a fridge. No a/c, but they have a fan. Old school but works.
Several shortcomings:
- No elevator.
- The reception is opened only a few hours a day (but this is becoming a standard everywhere).
- The insulation of the rooms is not the best, so it's rather noisy - especially considering that the lack of a/c means you'll probably have your windows open (and no earplugs provided).
- Furniture is weary and even damaged.
But the main issue for me is that the beds are not comfortable at all: super soft mattress and huge pillows.
Lastly, the hotel is pretty far from the city and not very close to public transport either (12 min brisk walk).
I stayed in a budget room, so perhaps it's only the case for those.
There are a lot of good reviews about the large rooms, but the budget room was the worst room of my life.
A small room with a shower into the room. Lots of cobwebs and spiders. Smell in the toilet. The bed was very uncomfortable: very soft mattress and old pillows with rolled up filling. The bed linen was yellow.
There was not much choice for a breakfast, although you can find all the basic products. There were fruits, eggs, muesli, yoghurt, ham, cheese, vegetables, but we couldn't eat tomatoes because they had mustiness or ice (I'm not sure, you can draw your own conclusions from the photo).
Hello everyone,
I stayed with my mother in this hotel and I will never recommend anyone to stay in this hotel.
Such a pity hotel with smelly rooms with no facilities not even a single spoon in the room.
Room was so dark and far from Dresden's main station.
My mother is 68 years old and they gave me the 3rd floor where you have to go by stairs.
So disappointed and a waste of money.
Please look at the beautiful view from the hotel.
Double bed is far from double. Rooms on the top floor are super hot making it impossible to stay in or sleep. Maybe worth 50 but surely not 100eu
The location is easily accessible by a combination of bus and trains. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room and towels were so clean. And you can arrive whenever and they will leave a key for you so you can check in very easily. Overall it was great.
Beautiful turquoise design, simple rooms with everything we needed. The area is in general quiet, so we had great night sleep, bed was very comfortable and huge. Only one thing was missing, some exta pillow for comfort TV watching.
Bathroom excellent, hairdryer was not so good though, had to use my own anyway. New and soft fluffy towels were a nice surprise.
Breakfast has two areas, eating room and one whole room for buffet, which is great. We got time slot, but it was quiet so we could eat even earlier.
City is about 10 min by car, easy access. Parking at hotel was 5€ p/night, dog fee was 10€ p/night.
Overall we loved it there!
The place is pretty nice but a bit far from many things.
Their breakfast is pretty good, and a decent price.
I put low on service because we specifically picked this place because of the free parking listed on booking.com, but ended up paying 5 EUR per night for parking. Out here you need a car and a parking place.
